Murders In The Rue Morgue Book Watercolour Illustration by E. Poe

Celebrating The Murders in the Rue Morgue, this book poster honours Edgar Allan Poe's groundbreaking 1841 tale that invented the modern detective story. The design evokes the shadowy streets of Paris and the brilliant mind of C. Auguste Dupin, Poe's analytical detective who solves a seemingly impossible locked-room murder through pure logic. A striking addition to a home library, study, or gallery wall, this literary art print speaks to fans of classic mysteries, English teachers, and book club members who trace the genre's origins back to Poe's macabre genius.

This watercolour illustration of The Murders In The Rue Morgue steps out of the gallery and into the story — soft colour washes behind the title, with crisp lettering emerging through a brushed halo. Romantic, atmospheric, a little dreamy. Book illustration art made for reading nooks, nurseries, and walls that quietly wish they were a library.
