The Children of Húrin (2007)

Set in that same First Age, this is the story of a warrior who defies Morgoth and the terrible curse laid upon his family as a result. At its centre is Túrin, a hero doomed by fate, whose every attempt to do right seems to bring ruin to those he loves most.
