Little Women (1868)
Alcott's original novel introduces Meg, Jo, Beth and Amy March, four sisters growing up in genteel poverty while their father is away at war. It remains one of the most cherished coming-of-age stories in English literature.
Good Wives (1868)
Published as the second half of Alcott's story, this volume follows the March sisters into adulthood. Marriage, heartbreak and career ambitions test their closeness as each woman finds her own path, though the sisterly loyalty that defined their childhood never truly fades.
Little Men (1871)
Years later, Jo March, now Jo Bhaer, has opened Plumfield Estate School with her husband, taking in an unruly band of boys in need of guidance. Through patience, warmth and unconventional teaching, she shapes them into thoughtful young men, proving that the values she learned as a girl live on in the next generation.
