About Us

Blurby Posters is a British online shop selling original art prints inspired by books. We design every poster ourselves, write a short original blurb for each one, and print to order in the customer's own region. We are an independent, couple-run business, and we sell through this site and through our Etsy shop, BlurbyPosters.

The blurb is the point

Most book posters give you a title and an author. Ours give you the story. Underneath the artwork sits a few lines written specifically for that book, the kind of thing you would say to a friend you were pressing the book on. That is where the name comes from, and it is the part people tell us they notice first. We now have blurbs for close to ten thousand titles, from the ones everyone knows to the ones you have to explain at parties.

Six styles, one book

Every title comes in six designs, so the same novel can suit very different rooms:

• Blurby — our original: artwork above, title, author and blurb set beneath in a classic serif.
• Minimalist — quiet and typographic, with plenty of space around the artwork.
• Modern — bold and graphic, the illustration sitting above a solid colour block.
• Modern Minimalist — pared back and typography-led, like a first edition reimagined.
• Square — a balanced square composition, made for gallery walls and grids.
• Edge — an edge-to-edge watercolour with the lettering set over soft washes of colour.

Modern, Modern Minimalist and Square each come in three colourways: Stone, White and Mocha.

How they are made

Prints are made to order on 200gsm museum-grade paper with pigment inks, so they hold their colour rather than yellowing. Sizes run from A5 up to A1, plus 50 x 70 cm and the US sizes 12 x 18, 16 x 24, 20 x 30 and 24 x 36 inches. Framed options are available in wood, black or white, ready to hang. Printing is handled by PrintShrimp, who print locally in each region so orders are not flown across the world to reach you.

Delivery is free and tracked to the UK, USA, Canada, Australia and most of Europe.

Not official merchandise

Our posters are original interpretations inspired by the books. They are not official merchandise and we are not affiliated with any author, estate or publisher.

Can't find your book?

With a catalogue this size there is still always one more. If the book you want is not listed, order our Custom Book Poster and tell us the title, and we will design it and send it out on the same schedule as everything else.
