Why these three belong together

Tolkien's story grew from a children's adventure into one of the great epics of the twentieth century, and this trio charts that growth. Hung left to right, the prints move from the cosy warmth of Bag End, to a small company crossing the snow of the Misty Mountains, to the Fellowship on a stone bridge under a pale moon. It reads like a journey, which is why it works so well as a set.

The Hobbit (1937)

The famous round door of Bag End, half hidden in grass and flowers: the place every adventure in Middle-earth starts from, and where Bilbo would much rather have stayed.

The Fellowship of the Ring (1954)

A tiny line of travellers against vast, storm-grey peaks. The first volume of the great tale, when the quest is still only just beginning and the road already looks impossibly long.

The Lord of the Rings

The Company crossing a high stone bridge towards distant towers, the whole scale of Tolkien's world in one frame. The natural closing piece for the set.

Styling your Middle-earth wall

Blues, greens and misty greys run through all three prints, so the set sits beautifully in a study, games room or a child's bedroom. Oak frames suit the Shire mood; black frames make the mountains feel dramatic. Every poster also comes in five other styles if you'd rather mix things up.
