About P.L. Travers Book Posters
Our P.L. Travers collection celebrates the author who introduced the world to the no-nonsense nanny with the magical carpetbag. These minimalist posters capture the whimsy and sharp wit of stories that have enchanted generations of readers.
P.L. Travers created a character unlike any other in children's literature—Mary Poppins arrived on the East Wind with her parrot-headed umbrella and transformed the Banks household with adventures both practical and impossibly strange. What sets this collection apart is its focus on the original book series rather than adaptations, honouring Travers' distinctive voice that blended English propriety with touches of myth and folklore. Each design distills the essence of her storytelling into clean, gallery-worthy art.
The collection features posters for Mary Poppins (1934), the tale that started it all, alongside sequels including Mary Poppins Comes Back (1935) and Mary Poppins Opens the Door (1943). Readers who grew up with these books will recognize the adventures beyond the famous first story—the Gingerbread Stars, the trip around the world in a moment, the conversations with celestial beings.
Each P.L. Travers poster is available in multiple art styles—Modern, Minimalist, Square, and Edge—and can be ordered framed or unframed to suit your space. Whether you're decorating a nursery with literary heritage or adding a touch of childhood magic to your home library, these designs offer a sophisticated way to display your connection to Travers' unforgettable world.
