About Kevin Lynch Book Posters
Kevin Lynch transformed how we understand cities through his groundbreaking work in urban planning and environmental psychology. This collection features posters celebrating his most influential texts on urban design and spatial perception.
Lynch's writings examine the relationship between people and their built environments, exploring how cities shape our daily experiences and collective memory. His concept of urban legibility—the ease with which people can navigate and mentally organize a cityscape—continues to influence architects, planners, and designers worldwide. These posters honor work that bridges rigorous research with humanistic insight into how we inhabit urban spaces.
The collection includes The Image of the City (1960), his seminal study of how residents perceive Boston, Jersey City, and Los Angeles; A Theory of Good City Form (1981), a comprehensive framework for evaluating urban design; What Time is This Place? (1972), examining temporal dimensions of the built environment; and Growing up in cities (1977), investigating young people's experiences in urban settings.
Each Kevin Lynch poster works beautifully in studios, offices, or libraries where thoughtful design matters. Available in Modern, Minimalist, Square, and Edge styles, framed or unframed, these prints suit various aesthetic preferences while celebrating foundational urban planning literature.
